			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On January 14, 2011, USCIS updated its <a href="http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=4b7cdd1d5fd37210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&amp;vgnextchannel=73566811264a3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD">H-1B cap count</a> and confirmed that it has received 60,700 H-1B petitions for FY 2011.  In addition, USCIS already has reached the 20,000 H-1B Master&#8217;s exemption cap for FY 2011.  Therefore, any H-1B petition filed as a Master&#8217;s degree will be counted towards the regular 65,000 H-1B cap. </p>
<p>The last update from USCIS on January 7, 2011 confirmed that 58,700 H-1B petitions had been received.  Given that USCIS is receiving at least 2000 petitions per week, H-1B numbers for FY 2011 are expected to run out within the next two weeks.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>USCIS has issued updated figures for the FY 2011 H-1B Cap.  The Service reports that as of April 22, 2010 a total of 22,764 H-1B cap-subject petitions have been filed. 16,025 of these filings count towards the 65,000 general cap and 6,739 of the filings are for the Master’s cap which allots an extra 20,000 H-1B numbers for individuals with advanced degrees from U.S. institutions of higher education.</p>
